An EPC provides an energy rating for a building based on a survey of the performance potential of, amongst other things, the building fabric, materials of construction and services (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting).
A building is rated from A to G (with A being the most efficient and G the least). The EPC comes to a client in an easy-to-understand graph format similar to that found on a range of domestic appliances, such as fridges and washing machines.
